Kathie Kramer Ryan has excelled in development and leadership positions in the nonprofit sector for nearly 15 years. Kathie’s passion for connecting donors to the causes they care about led her to launch Arroyo Fundraising in 2011.

Before Arroyo, Kathie served as Director of Advancement for DSST Public Schools, helping to raise $22 million for public education in Denver in two years. Other past positions include Major Gifts Officer for the Denver Art Museum, where Kathie leveraged events celebrating the completion of the museum’s capital campaign to raise $2 million.
As Deputy Director for The Laboratory of Art & Ideas at Belmar, Kathie helped this start-up arts organization to build a fundraising program from the ground up, raising $1M in two years. As Director of Development and Communications for Denver’s rape crisis center, Kathie conceived and produced two annual signature fundraising events and designed the most successful direct mail campaign in organization history.
Collectively, Kathie has helped to raise over $40 million.
Kathie is a past-president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter. She serves on the Steering Committee and chairs the Mentor Committee for the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver. She has held numerous board, committee and advisory positions. Kathie holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin and an M.S. from the University of Massachusetts.
As an entrepreneur, Kathie has started and managed three businesses, including Arroyo Fundraising, LLC. In 2000, Kathie leveraged an essay contest and media opportunities to sell her Winter Park, Colorado restaurant, garnering two appearances on NBC’s The Today Show and numerous local television, radio, and print media features.
